The good, the bad, and the ugly

Ok, here's the deal. Everything was packed up, everything is on its way to Illinois, and we have made it to Mom's house.

The bad? The closing was delayed. Everything is ok from what we can tell - except the title company wasn't open today because of the winter storm.

That's the ugly. The weather is nasty. (Well, not anymore - now the snow and ice on the ground is nasty. The weather itself is ok.) We ended up with 14" of snow, or so, plus a nice heavy layer of ice underneath it. This morning, it was damn near impossible to get anywhere within town - let alone all the way to the town we're buying the house in, 20 miles away or so. My husband and my father dug out the cars here, and Tai helped my brother dig out his mother-in-law, too. I bet they're gonna be sore in the morning! (They're already sore tonight!)

Anyway, the closing has been rescheduled for Tuesday. That was going to be a BIG problem, because our stuff is supposed to arrive Sunday or Monday. If we can't take delivery then, they'd have to put it in storage, and it would take at least two weeks for us to get it out after we request it. Fortunately, the seller has decided to let us stash our stuff in the house before we close. That's so awesome.

And that's all I've got for now. I'll letcha know more later!
