Every second counts

We have figured out a way to make the most out of the time the kids are away. Or, rather, how to make time drag on and on and on and on, anyway.

We have quit smoking.

What better time than while the kids are gone? What better time than when we don't have to deal with them fighting with themselves and with us? What better time than when we don't have to deal with all of the stress that having kids brings? We don't have to be worried about being overly short-tempered or worry about yelling at the kids. It's a great time for this.

We quit on Saturday, July 29th, at 12:30 PM. Not that we've been counting the hours, minutes, and seconds or anything.

I finally decided I couldn't handle it Monday, and I bought some nicotine gum. It's not cheating - it's just an alternate way of quitting. ;o) Tai is going completely without. (He's pretty grumpy.)

But yeah. Time is moving V....E...R...Y......S....L....O....W....L....Y. It's a shame we can't really enjoy the time with each other while we're so short. Ah well. It will, ultimately, be better for us and for the kids.
