Stuff, stuff, and more stuff

There's no major theme to this post; I'm just playing catch up.

Tai's birthday was Friday. It was a good day. Reagan was kind enough to die, which meant that he got the day off of work. Woohoo! We started off the day with a birthday party at 8AM. Yes, we had cake for breakfast. Is that so wrong? After the boys got off to school, we took D to the pool - had a bit of two on one time with her, which is always nice. We got a bit of a nap, had a great dinner of bbq ribs, corn on the cob, and croissants, and were well on our way to a good evening when we got some bad news.

A friend, much closer to Tai than to me, emailed us with the information that her 7 week old son has brain cancer. Talk about a way to bring a great day down in a hurry. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family as they go to Harvard to meet with specialists. They are expecting to operate on Tuesday.

Other than that, it's been a weekend. The boys and I got sunburned, but nobody seems to be complaining about it but me. ;o) We're expecting company this evening - friends that are going to bring at least one of their bunnies along to play with Felix. That will be fun to watch. I made pineapple upside down cake (minus the cherries - didn't have any), and with any luck, it will be good stuff. Beyond that? Not much else is going on 'round these parts.
